State parks: Reserve at texasstateparks.org exactly 6 months before your trip date. Set a reminder — popular sites book out within hours of opening.

Private parks: Most take same-day reservations except holiday weekends. Call ahead for monthly rates — they’re negotiable during off-season.

Peak season: March through October. November through February is quieter with better availability but some parks reduce services.
